We learned key differences between facilities managers of hospitals versus facilities managers of universities or how to find the right buyer at a building owned by a Real Estate Investment Trust versus a private real estate developer. As we developed this expertise, we built our own building/owner database with information by building type, owner, size and many other factors.
Knowing what the need is
We also kept a close ear to the marketplace. What were the problems common to certain types of facilities? How could our clients truly help them?
Knowing when to act
Over time, we learned that owners of existing buildings tended to be the ones planning new construction. We were able to bring our clients insight into the early-planning stages of real estate development rather than waiting until a project already had been put out to bid or was under construction.
Knowing how to read the market
We are consistently offering our staff professional development and training around the many changes occurring in or markets, especially in the areas of technology, security and energy efficiency.
